What can I say about
Yumi? Even though she is older than I (by about 7 months) she looks
about 10 years younger.
Yumi's of Korean
and Japanese descent and came to the US about 24 years ago and stumbled
across me while our kids were on the same soccer team. The luckiest
day of my life was the day she asked me out after the final soccer
game of the season on October 13, 2002. Since then we've been inseperable
and have gone on several long vacations together and adventures
to places we'd never seen before. Unfortunately for her, however,
is the fact that I am so hooked on the mountains that she's even
agreed to move out west after the kids have finished college.
Yumi is now studying
to become a nurse after spending the previous 14 years as a stay-at-home
mother. Though she says she's not the smartest person in the world,
she's still managed to complete 6 semesters of college with nothing
less than a "A" due to her hard work and dilligence. By
the way, english is her second language, which makes her accomplishments
all the more amazing.
In her youth, Yumi
managed to escape death on more than one occasion. Motorcycles,
sleds, surfboards, automobiles, cats and numerous other objects
had nearly done her in.
